Features: The compiled articles in this book reflect part of the research status of global cultural perspectives in music anthropology in the 1980s, such as the study of musical change, comparative musicology, and music aesthetics research. The compiled articles in this book can be roughly divided into six parts. Part one focuses on the study of global changes in musical culture. The second part shows the historical trajectory from comparative musicology to music ethnology, and then to music anthropology, reflecting the continuous expansion of humanity's understanding and perception of music in terms of breadth and depth. The third part presents musical culture aesthetics expressions different from the Western music aesthetics system. The musical culture aesthetics of Africa and Asia offer a fresh perspective on the fundamental principles of music aesthetics, as well as an understanding of the commonalities and uniqueness of various cultural musics, providing rich resources for the aesthetics of world music. The fourth part allows us to explore the research in the field of Western musicology through works such as The Nature of Musicology, Methods of Musicology, and Musicological Traditions in Western Countries, which can be used to compare the development of music anthropology in terms of disciplinary nature, methods, and perspectives relative to musicology. The fifth part reveals the dilemmas encountered by Western professional music composition in its linear logical development, reflecting the contradictions in the understanding between Western-dominated musical culture and innovative experimental music in the post-industrial era, as well as the oriental tendencies of innovative experimental music. The sixth part shows the historical contributions of music anthropology concepts to the development of international multicultural music education.
