Is the recurrence of cervical erosion due to something I didn't pay attention to in my daily life?

Patient's question:

Around this past summer, I went to the hospital for a check-up. The doctor said I had mild erosion. After that, I went to the hospital again to get some medication to take. After completing the medication, the condition improved. In the beginning of this year, I went to the hospital for another check-up, and the doctor said I had developed mild erosion again.

Doctor's answer:

The reasons for the recurrence of cervical erosion are as follows:
1. Older age of the patient
According to relevant surveys, if a patient's age exceeds 30, special attention should be paid, as the probability of recurrence of cervical erosion symptoms at this stage is relatively higher.
2. Worsening of the lesion
Clinical data shows that if the area of cervical erosion in a patient is larger, the difficulty of treatment also increases, and the probability of recurrence is relatively higher.
3. Incomplete treatment
Some patients may use inappropriate treatment methods. During physical treatments such as laser, microwave, or electric cauterization, issues like too shallow treatment areas or limited scope may occur, leading to incomplete removal of diseased tissue on the cervical erosion surface and causing recurrence.
4. Repeated induced abortions
During induced abortion procedures, a woman's cervix needs to be dilated to smoothly remove the fetal sac. If a woman has had multiple induced abortions, her cervix will be damaged multiple times, resulting in recurrent episodes of cervical erosion during treatment.
