What does uterine parenchymal echo inhomogeneity mean?

Patient's question:

I am 25 years old this year and am preparing for pregnancy, wanting to have a baby. I went to the hospital for a physical examination, and the doctor said that the of my uterus is not uniform?? What does this mean?? Can I get pregnant? Can I have a baby? I am really worried~!

Doctor's answer:

It should be myometrial echo. If it were endometrial echo, it would be directly written after the endometrial thickness, and it would generally prompt that the endometrial echo is heterogeneous. Regarding the artery, it's PI and RI, not 1, which stands for pulsatility index and resistive index, and it's normal.
The myometrial echo is heterogeneous. This is usually seen during pregnancy or shortly after childbirth; some people who haven't been pregnant but have had multiple previous pregnancies may also have a rougher uterus. There's also a case where there's a tendency for fibroids but it's not obvious, so the ultrasound doctor would caution by noting the heterogeneous myometrial echo. I think you'd be better off stopping for a few months and waiting until you're adjusted before trying to conceive again. Generally, heterogeneous myometrial echo doesn't significantly affect pregnancy, but it's still important to have regular prenatal check-ups.
