Features: Xinjiang, the ancient land in the western region, has always been an integral and sacred part of our great motherland since ancient times. Xinjiang is also a multi-ethnic inhabited area, where people of all ethnic groups have made their due contributions in the development, construction, and defense of the motherland's frontier. To summarize historical experiences, maintain national unity, and strengthen ethnic solidarity, we should all understand the history of Xinjiang. For this purpose, we have compiled the book "Xinjiang in History."
"Xinjiang in History" adheres to the perspective of historical materialism and adopts a question-and-answer format. Through thematic introductions of specific historical periods, stages, or aspects of historical development, as well as narratives of major historical events and representative figures, the book systematically explains Xinjiang's historical knowledge to a broad readership. The entire book is organized chronologically, listing nearly 200 topics, with ancient and modern history roughly equally represented. Each topic is both self-contained and interconnected, forming a cohesive historical whole. At the same time, it strives to organically combine scientific rigor, knowledge, and readability, both in terms of viewpoints, which gather the latest research findings from the historical academia, and in terms of format, writing style, and language, which are designed to be clear, concise, and fluent.
