Chinese opera has the concept of facial masks, where various patterns painted on the faces of certain roles are used to portray a character's personality and characteristics. Therefore, to some extent, the face is like a barometer reflecting an individual's emotions and personality. If you ask an innocent and simple-minded child to draw a person, whether it's a Martian, an octopus, or any other bizarre creature, they will first draw the face. Although they might draw a person without a neck, they would never draw a person without a face. In our daily conversations, we often use "face" or "aspect" to refer to a person. For example, when meeting someone, we can use terms like "greet by face," "meet face-to-face," "face-to-face," or "meet."
To the discerning, every person's face is like a detailed report reflecting their physical and mental condition, revealing their personality. Thus, it is feasible to judge a person's character through their face. Some judges and prosecutors spend long hours interrogating in court. This is not because the interrogated person hasn't made the expected reactions, but because the judge or prosecutor is not a keen observer.
