What are the tests required for female infertility?

Patient's question:

Hello: What are the tests required for female infertility? I've been married and haven't had any children, and we haven't been using any form of contraception, but I don't know the reason why. What tests are needed for female infertility?

Doctor's answer:

Fimbrial adhesions and obstruction of the fallopian tubes can be treated with pelvic adhesionysis and fimbrial recanalization. If the fallopian tube is mildly hydrosalpinx, a tubal ostomy may be performed, which may have a smaller impact on ovarian function compared to tubal resection. On one hand, it drains the harmful hydrosalpinx and, on the other hand, it hopes to restore the function of the fallopian tube through the body's remodeling, thereby preserving the possibility of natural pregnancy; however, there is a risk of recurrent hydrosalpinx formation due to postoperative adhesion. For severely hydrosalpinx with completely lost function that cannot be preserved, tubal resection can be performed. During resection, the mesentery should be preserved as much as possible to minimize the potential impact on ovarian blood supply.
