Patient's question:
How to treat cervical erosion? How should cervical erosion be treated to help women regain happiness?
Doctor's answer:
Hello! It is now believed that cervical erosion cannot be considered a disease; most of it is a normal physiological phenomenon, with only a small portion associated with gynecological diseases. In medical diagnosis, there is no diagnosis of cervical erosion; cervical erosion is merely a sign, now referred to as cervical erosion-like changes. Most cervical erosion-like changes are related to elevated estrogen levels. During puberty or pregnancy, estrogen levels in women rise, causing the columnar epithelium of the cervical canal to extend outward. Since this columnar epithelium is thin, the underlying blood vessels and stroma can be seen, appearing as a red, granular area, similar to eroded skin. However, pathologically, there is no abnormality. When estrogen levels decrease, the columnar epithelium moves back into the cervical canal, and this phenomenon may disappear. If increased, yellow, or odorous vaginal discharge, Nabothian cysts, or cervical hypertrophy are observed, it indicates cervical inflammation.
Therefore, physiological cervical erosion-like changes do not require treatment. If symptoms arise due to inflammation, cancer, or other causes, treatment should be targeted at the underlying cause.
It is recommended to further complete relevant gynecological examinations, such as routine vaginal discharge tests and HPV DNA detection.
