Patient's question:
Hello doctor, I would like to ask what methods are used to treat asthenozoospermia? Because I have been trying to conceive for half a year without success, I went to the hospital for a semen analysis and found that there were many dead sperm in my semen. The doctor said I have asthenozoospermia and asked if this affects fertility. How should asthenozoospermia be treated?Doctor's answer:
Anti-inflammatory drug treatment: Primarily used for chronic non-bacterial accessory gland inflammation. Commonly used drugs include aspirin, indomethacin, phenylbutazone, ibuprofen, etc. For example, indomethacin 25–50mg, three times daily; phenylbutazone 100mg, 3–4 times daily. Continuous medication for 1 month can reduce congestion and edema of accessory glands and achieve a certain therapeutic effect on necrospermia. Additionally, as chlamydia and mycoplasma infections cannot be ruled out, tetracycline 0.5g, four times daily; doxycycline 100mg, once daily, may be considered for a duration of 1–2 weeks.
