Patient's question:
What are the symptoms of varicocele? I've recently been feeling damp and hot in my scrotum, and I sweat a lot. Coincidentally, during a physical check-up at my workplace, I was diagnosed with varicocele. This is the first time I've heard of this condition. I hope the doctor can explain the symptoms of varicocele and the causes of this disease.Doctor's answer:
The symptoms of varicocele are mainly manifested in the following ways:1. In the early stage, when standing, dilated veins are not visible on the scrotal skin, but dilated veins can be felt inside the scrotum. When lying down, the dilated veins disappear quickly.
2. Later, when standing, dilated veins can be seen on the scrotum, and more obvious dilated veins can be felt inside the scrotum. The symptoms of varicocele have become relatively obvious.
3. In the later stage, there are prominent large blood vessels on the surface of the scrotum, and the scrotum contains obvious worm-like dilated veins with thickened and hardened vein walls. When lying down, the veins disappear slowly. Patients with severe scrotal varicocele, those with sperm counts below 20 million for three consecutive times, or those with testicular atrophy, as well as those whose dilated veins disappear when lying down, may undergo high ligation of the internal spermatic vein.
