The works "Ancient Road," " auspicious Clouds," "Midnight," "Frosty Morning," "Sunset," "Twilight," and the Palace in "Backlight," the lights of the ancient city in "Winter Night," and the towering and magnificent Forbidden City under the blazing sun in "Midday Sun," as well as the stubborn Drum Tower surrounded by white clouds—all exhibit unique styles, brimming with a strong Chinese atmosphere while also emitting Western modernist hues. In the aesthetic enjoyment, one perceives the artist's emotions, taking people back to the vicissitudes of time and immersing them in Li Xiushi's ink-bone oil painting world.
From an artistic perspective, the painter abstracts and generalizes the vast world into the structure and rhythm of points and lines, refining and combining them into the contrast and harmony of warm and cool colors, as well as rhythms. By integrating the two painting elements of form and color, he weaves a concerto of lines, a sonata and symphony of colors.
