Sleeping in the vast desert, the tranquil oasis once nourished countless lives. The people here live in harmony with the world, cherishing this flawless paradise. Unskilled in weapons, yet fearless, because their deities guard the peace and tranquility of this land. Amidst the lush greenery, the emerald lake was once the precious eye of the gods. His divine melody brought happiness to all living beings here. The wind and rain would halt their advance, and heaven and earth would bow in admiration. The sun god regarded him as his pearl in the palm, and his deeds were praised by all.
But overnight, as if black and white were reversed, the favorite of the gods became the embodiment of sin. Even though his divine melody continued, all his merits were erased from the records, all his praise was stripped away, and all his brilliance turned to desolation on the land of Egypt. The god still lives. Where the Hasor Temple disappeared, a dead oasis emerged instead. The song that had saved Lian countless times became the funereal hymn of Anubis. And what Lian couldn’t believe was that the one who sank Anubis into the lakebed of the oasis was someone she had never expected.
Ancient Egyptian myths are countless, but one of the most famous is the story that occurred over six thousand years ago, much like Shakespeare’s play Hamlet. The pharaoh Osiris was killed by his brother Set and usurped the throne. The queen Isis left the holy city of Heliopolis to search for her husband’s body. Later, she found and resurrected the pharaoh and gave birth to a prince, Horus. But soon after, Osiris was killed again by his brother, dismembered, and his body parts scattered across Egypt. In the end, Horus avenged his father by killing Set-Sutkhu and reclaimed the divine city, becoming the master of Heliopolis.
