Patient's question:

Hello, could you please explain what causes poor ovulation???? I have been trying to conceive for a long time, but I haven't been able to get pregnant yet. What should I do????? What are the reasons for poor ovulation????? I am very anxious and hope the doctor can help me with the answer.

Doctor's answer:

Turner syndrome and simple gonadal dysgenesis are chromosomal abnormal diseases, both primarily characterized by primary amenorrhea as the main clinical manifestation, elevated gonadotropins, and decreased estrogen. Pregnancy can be achieved through in vitro fertilization and embryo transfer using eggs donated by others.
(2) Premature ovarian failure and polycystic ovary syndrome: Oligomenorrhea or amenorrhea caused by ovarian dysfunction before the age of 40 is referred to as premature ovarian failure, accounting for approximately 20% to 28% of primary amenorrhea and 4% to 20% of secondary amenorrhea.
(3) Polycystic ovary syndrome: It is often characterized by oligomenorrhea or amenorrhea, long-term anovulation, excessive androgens, and non-cyclical fluctuations in estrogen. It is currently a major cause of anovulatory infertility.
(4) Luteinized unruptured follicle syndrome: In a normal menstrual cycle or a medication-induced ovulation cycle, the ovary develops a dominant follicle, but the follicle does not disappear or remains in growth phase 48 hours after the LH peak, persisting for several days. The granulosa cells have undergone luteinization, but the follicle remains unruptured.
Recommendation: Different diagnostic and treatment plans should be chosen based on the specific symptoms. Therefore, it is recommended to first determine the underlying cause through thorough examination before proceeding with targeted treatment.
