How is the cyst in the attachment formed? What are the reasons for it?

Patient's question:

Recently, during a health check-up organized by our unit, I was found to have an appendage cyst. I usually feel quite healthy, so I'd like to ask: How are appendage cysts formed? What are the causes?

Doctor's answer:

The reasons for the formation of cysts in the:
1. Genetic factors. According to statistics, 25% of patients with ovarian tumors have a family history, which indicates that ovarian cysts have a genetic component.
2. Endocrine factors. Although small, the ovaries are vital organs that produce eggs and release them, as well as secrete endocrine hormones and balance the endocrine system. Ovarian tumors are more common in women of reproductive age, a period of peak endocrine activity.
3. Lifestyle factors. Long-term poor dietary structure, unhealthy living habits, and excessive psychological stress can lead to excessive acidification of the body, a decline in overall physiological function, and weakened immunity. This may result in abnormal hyperplasia of ovarian tissue, ultimately leading to the formation of ovarian cysts, even potentially cancerous changes.
4. Environmental factors. In industrialized countries and higher socioeconomic groups, the incidence of ovarian cancer is higher. This is associated with food contamination and high cholesterol intake in the diet.
