Why does the vagina bleed?

Patient's question:

On May 19th, I underwent medication-induced abortion, and the gestational sac was expelled on the same day. A follow-up examination revealed residual tissue in the uterus. On June 1st, I had a D&C procedure. One week after the D&C, I resumed sexual activity. Sixteen days after the D&C, vaginal bleeding began, which was greater than or equal to the amount of my menstrual flow and had no odor. On June 19th, an ultrasound examination showed everything was normal, with good uterine recovery and no discomfort in my body.
Why is there vaginal bleeding?

Doctor's answer:

Normally, there is no bleeding outside of the menstrual period. So, do you have any other symptoms now? Your current symptoms might indicate an infection, and you should visit the gynecology department of the hospital for a gynecological examination. Conditions like fibroids can cause bleeding that continues after the menstrual period. To determine the exact cause, a check-up is necessary. Currently, it is also recommended not to have sexual intercourse to avoid infection. After the examination, communicate thoroughly with the doctor.
