Is it because of fibroids that it was caused?

Patient's question:

I had an operation for uterine fibroids three years ago. A few days ago, I had a blood test at the hospital, and my platelet count was above the normal range, 34110^9. I wonder if it's related to the fibroids.

Doctor's answer:

Uterine Bleeding: Uterine bleeding is a primary symptom of uterine fibroids, occurring in half or more of patients, with cyclical bleeding (excessive menstrual flow, prolonged menstrual period, or shortened menstrual cycle) being more common than non-cyclical bleeding (persistent or irregular). The latter accounts for a smaller proportion. The bleeding is mainly caused by intramural and submucosal fibroids.
Secondary Anemia: Uterine fibroids can lead to excessive menstrual bleeding. If prolonged, this may result in secondary anemia, even triggering anemia-related heart disease. In severe cases, patients may experience symptoms such as general fatigue, pale complexion, palpitations, and shortness of breath.
