Schumann was indeed unlucky, as depression shadowed his entire life. Yet Schumann might have been fortunate, for he lived to see the praise heaped upon him. As a fervent advocate of Romantic music, he infused his personal emotions into the poetry and fantasy of his works. The combination of top-quality CD production and an exquisite introductory text allows you to listen, to appreciate, and to get closer to the great musician.
