Patient's question:
I'm a bit unclear about this issue, so I'd like to ask everyone for advice!Doctor's answer:
Calculate the cycle length. In women, ovulation generally occurs about 14 days before the next menstrual period. Starting from the first day of the next menstrual period, count backwards 14 days or subtract 14 days to determine the ovulation day. The ovulation day, plus the 5 days before it and the 4 days after it, together constitute the fertile window. For example, a woman with a 28-day menstrual cycle has her period start on December 2. The next menstrual period would then be on December 30 (December 2 plus 28 days). Subtracting 14 days from December 30 gives December 16 as the ovulation day. The fertile window, which includes the ovulation day and the 5 days before it and the 4 days after it, is from December 11 to December 20. Apart from the menstrual period and the fertile window, all other times are considered safe days.
