[Preface] This book is a teaching material for national secondary vocational and technical schools of medicine and pharmacy, organized and compiled by the National Research Association of Vocational and Technical Education in Medicine and Pharmacy. It is primarily intended for students majoring in pharmaceutical preparation, as well as for those in pharmaceutical analysis and testing, and pharmaceutical commodity marketing. The writing of this book aims to cultivate line technical operation talents, adhering to the principle of "necessary and sufficient," providing essential theoretical knowledge of medicinal chemistry for subsequent courses, while also strengthening students' hands-on skills. The book is compiled by: Ye Yunhua from Hunan Medical School, writing Chapters 1, 13, 14, and the experimental section; Li Yuhua from Henan Medical School, writing Chapters 6 and 7; Deng Hongyan from Guangzhou Pharmaceutical Secondary School, writing Chapters 3, 8, and 10; Sun Ruolan from Shanghai Medical School, writing Chapters 4 and 5; Wei Shumei from Xuzhou Medical Secondary School in Jiangsu Province, writing Chapters 2 and 12; and Yang Lirong from Hunan Medical School, writing Chapters 9 and 11. It is reviewed by Associate Professor Zhang Chuntao from Hunan University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Given the rapid development of modern medicinal chemistry, this book strives to reflect the main content of contemporary medicinal chemistry to meet students' needs in pharmaceutical production and other fields, embodying the characteristics of secondary vocational education. When using this textbook, schools can select teaching content, review questions, and experimental sections based on their professional characteristics, teaching plans, and requirements, enabling students to master the basic theoretical knowledge and operational skills of this course within limited teaching hours. Although the compilers have made their best efforts, due to the urgency of the situation and the limited expertise of the compilers, errors and omissions are inevitable. We sincerely welcome criticism and corrections from readers.
