Patient's question:
I have been married for several years. In recent years, I have always wanted a baby, but I haven't been able to get pregnant. My husband and I went to the hospital for check-ups. The results showed that I have a forward-positioned uterus, and all other indicators were normal, indicating that I am fully capable of getting pregnant. The doctor advised us to relax our minds. What kind of help do I need: What positions are easy to conceive with a forward-positioned uterus?
Doctor's answer:
Anterior uterine position is one of the normal positions of the uterus. In an anterior uterine position, the cervix points downward toward the posterior fornix of the vagina. Its position within the body is relatively low, making it easier for semen to concentrate there. This is a favorable position for conception, so there is no need to worry. The uterus has an anterior tilt angle, and the anterior uterine position refers to this tilt angle being larger than the normal range. Many people with an anterior uterine position also have an enlarged uterus, and the anterior position makes it easier to conceive. During intercourse, you can change your position to a kneeling behind posture to aim the semen toward the anterior fornix of the vagina, which is closer to the cervix, thereby creating conditions for sperm to enter the uterus. Alternatively, you can adopt a normal intercourse position and immediately assume a prone position after intercourse, placing a pillow under your abdomen and resting for 30 minutes to allow sperm to smoothly enter the cervix. Both methods can increase the chances of conception.
