Features: This book is the concluding report of the "Research on the Relationship Between Behavior Habits and Personality of Children and Adolescents" project, which was undertaken by the China Youth and Children Research Center as part of the National Education Science "Fifteenth Five-Year Plan." The book is divided into two main sections: the Practical Part and the Theoretical Part. The Theoretical Part is based on a one-year experimental study conducted in 11 primary schools in Beijing, from which the personality characteristics of urban Chinese children and adolescents were identified. Additionally, the Practical Part analyzes classroom environments in the upper grades of these 11 schools, as well as children's prosocial behavior, respectful behavior, sense of responsibility, self-management habits, and academic behavior habits. Based on these findings, specific strategies for habit cultivation are proposed.
In the Practical Part of the book, the authors present requirements for cultivating children's habits from the perspectives of family, school, and self-practice, with a focus on fostering good habits in children through both school and family environments to strengthen their fundamental qualities. This report was primarily developed under the close collaboration of the China Youth and Children Research Center, the Institute of Psychology at the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the School of Psychology at Beijing Normal University. In addition to conducting sub-project research in over 400 primary and secondary schools and kindergartens across the country, six doctoral students and a group of master's students in child psychology were dispatched to 11 schools in Beijing for a year of experimental research. The research outcomes are of significant value.
