What are the reasons for stomach pain after cohabitation?

Patient's question:

I had a baby last October. By the time of the Lunar New Year, there was no sensation during intimacy. At the beginning of the year, intimacy would cause this situation, and it would be very painful during intimacy, with pain the next day. Later, I was diagnosed with pelvic inflammatory disease and fluid accumulation. It has since been resolved. However, in the past two weeks, this situation has reoccurred, but without the abdominal pain or lower back pain from the last time. Previously, I would experience abdominal pain and lower back pain after walking, and the next day after intimacy.

Doctor's answer:

Post-coital abdominal pain is primarily observed in the following two aspects.
Physiological: During sexual intercourse, the thrusting of the male penis can cause intense stimulation to the female vagina, abdominal cavity, and pelvic organs. This may lead to rapid breathing and involuntary muscle contractions in the female body, which can trigger pain. However, since sexual arousal often masks the pain, it typically manifests after intercourse. This is the most common scenario. Such post-coital abdominal pain is usually tolerable and tends to resolve on its own.
Pathological: If the female has pre-existing conditions in the abdominal or pelvic region, rough male movements, excessive speed or amplitude of thrusting, or deep penetration may cause the penis to impact the affected area, resulting in abdominal pain.
Advice: Identify the underlying cause before proceeding with targeted treatment.
