If a woman experiences after an abortion, what discomfort symptoms might she have?

Patient's question:

Hello:
Could you please tell me what discomfort symptoms might occur if appendicitis develops after an abortion?
Also, what are the symptoms of pelvic inflammatory disease (PID)? Please explain in detail, thank you. Are these two conditions serious? What tests should be done at the hospital?

Doctor's answer:

Hello: In life, it is common to hear that a friend has appendicitis. So what exactly does appendicitis refer to? In the female internal reproductive organs, the fallopian tubes and ovaries are called uterine appendages. Therefore, strictly speaking, appendicitis refers to inflammation of the fallopian tubes and ovaries. However, inflammation of the fallopian tubes and ovaries is often combined with parametritis and pelvic peritonitis, and it is also difficult to distinguish during diagnosis. As a result, pelvic peritonitis and parametritis are also included in the scope of appendicitis.
What are the symptoms of chronic tubo-ovarian inflammation and pelvic peritonitis?
Chronic tubo-ovarian inflammation and pelvic peritonitis are often caused by incomplete treatment or lack of attention to acute tubo-ovarian inflammation and pelvic peritonitis. Chronic inflammation recurs repeatedly, persists for a long time, leading to pelvic congestion, fibrosis of connective tissues, and adhesions between pelvic organs. The most common symptom in patients is a sense of heaviness and pain in the lower abdomen, which often worsens during menstruation or after exertion. Additionally, there may be an increase in leukorrhea, a heavier menstrual flow, lower back and sacral pain, and in some cases, pain during intercourse.
Pelvic Inflammation
Patients appear acutely ill, with a body temperature often ranging from 39 to 40°C, rapid pulse, tense lower abdominal muscles, tenderness, rebound tenderness, and sometimes palpable masses or intestinal distension.
During gynecological examinations, the cervix may be tender to elevation, the uterus may be slightly enlarged and tender, and its mobility may be limited. Tenderness is in the adnexa on both sides of the uterus, and sometimes a mass can be palpated. In cases of parametritis, there may be a patchy thickening in one or both sides of the lower abdomen, and in severe cases, it may resemble a frozen pelvis. If a pelvic abscess has formed, a fluctuating mass can be palpated in the rectouterine pouch.
