How to use medication for chlamydia

Patient's question:

I would like to ask, I currently have erythromycin, rifampicin, and tinidazole. I want to use them during the Chinese New Year period and need to organize them first.
Are these medications enough? Do I need anything else?

Doctor's answer:

The first-line treatment for chlamydia is tetracycline and azithromycin. Additionally, doxycycline, minocycline, erythromycin, rifampicin, and clarithromycin can also be used. Fluoroquinolones such as levofloxacin and moxifloxacin are also effective. Beta-lactam antibiotics, aminoglycoside antibiotics, and vancomycin, gentamicin, etc., are ineffective. The duration of effective treatment is 7 to 21 days. Severe cases of psittacosis may be treated concurrently with corticosteroids. Intravenous fluids and oxygen therapy should also be administered as supportive treatment.
