Features: The author is passionate about music and has dedicated over seventy years to music education. During this period, she felt that young students urgently needed reference materials on vocal music, yet such Chinese books were scarce in the market. Some foreign books, due to translation inaccuracies, were more prone to mislead readers. Original foreign vocal music books were rarely written by singers themselves, making it difficult to express their profound insights in words. Therefore, twenty years ago, she decided to write a book in Chinese to explore subtle issues in vocal music. This is the motivation behind writing this book. It is a comprehensive summary of theories from experts, masters, and singers, combined with the author's teaching experiences and insights over more than seventy years both domestically and internationally. These theories are recognized learning principles, free from the risk of blind adherence.
The author believes that vocal music, apart from reflecting the characteristics of a nation's language and works, should not be divided. The success factors for excellent singers are largely similar. She thinks that students who love singing, whether they aspire to become rock singers or jazz singers in the future, will benefit greatly if they acquire even a basic level of accurate vocal technique and knowledge. This will allow their voices to develop gradually and maintain their youthful quality, preventing their beautiful voices from fading away in just a few years like a fleeting flower.
