Patient's question:
What are the symptoms of trichomoniasis? What should I do if I have trichomoniasis?Doctor's answer:
Most cases are asymptomatic. Women may experience discomfort that lasts for one week or several months, then significantly improves due to menstruation or pregnancy. The vaginal mucosa becomes inflamed and appears bright red, covered with patchy pseudomembranes, often accompanied by foamy discharge. They may experience varying degrees of itching, and some may have a burning sensation. Leukorrhea increases and turns yellowish-green. Occasionally, it may cause urinary frequency, urgency, dysuria, or hematuria, or abdominal pain, diarrhea, or mucous stools. It may also lead to alveolar abscess, caries, urethritis, cystitis, or bartholinitis.
