Patient's question:
Can a woman with a retroverted uterus conceive through artificial insemination?Doctor's answer:
Hello: Uterine retroversion can still lead to normal pregnancy, so you don't need to worry so much. A relaxed mindset and a healthy body are the best. Don't force anything. If you want to improve fertility, consider the following:(1) Actively correct uterine retroversion. Practice lying on your side, on your back, and in a kneeling position 2-3 times daily, for about 30 minutes each time, to give the uterus a chance to tilt forward. During your menstrual period, lie face down once a day, as this is when the uterus is slightly softer, which helps with forward tilting. If the retroversion is severe, regularly perform the kneeling knee-chest position, keeping your body perpendicular to the ground and bending your waist downward, not arching it upward. Do this for about 15 minutes each time.
(2) During intercourse, place a soft cushion or small pillow under the woman's hips to elevate her buttocks, allowing semen to concentrate in the posterior fornix of the vagina. After intercourse, lie in this position for 20-30 minutes. Additionally, avoid urinating within 30 minutes after ejaculation to prevent semen leakage, ensuring the cervix comes into full contact with the semen and increasing the likelihood of sperm entering the uterine cavity.
(3) Practicing intercourse in the male-behind, female-kneeling position can also help semen remain in the fornix.
