Patient's question:
I had my period last November 30th, but today is January 2nd, and I still haven't had my period. I want to consult if I might be pregnant. Around October 14th, I took emergency contraception, and I'm wondering if it could cause irregular periods. So on December 29th, I went to the hospital to take a urine test, which was negative. But now I haven't had a period yet, and I'm very worried.Additional question: Today is the 5th, and I took another early pregnancy test, which was negative. However, I've been without a period for 6 days now. Is it possible that I'm not pregnant because the test isn't accurate yet? Or is it not enough time yet?
Doctor's answer:
If your period is seven days late and hasn't arrived yet, use a pregnancy test. If there are two lines, it means you're pregnant. One light line and one dark line also means you're pregnant. One line means you're not pregnant! If you've been using condoms the whole time, there shouldn't be a problem!
