To truly understand the works of predecessors and grasp their essence from language to spirit requires ample knowledge preparation, sufficient time investment, and above all, the patience to sit down and approach them with an attitude of understanding, putting oneself in their shoes. Only then can one possibly grasp the spirit of predecessors and transform it into a spiritual wealth for modern society.
Building upon the research on Yan-Zhao historical documents, this paper broadens the perspective and reviews the development of Yan-Zhao historical documents over two thousand years. It provides an outline of the ancient and modern historical documents and local chronicles of Yan-Zhao, summarizing the evolution of Yan-Zhao historical documents, their regional characteristics, temporal features, and representative works.
