Patient's question:
Duration of onset and persistence of illness: Vulvar pain for 2 monthsAuxiliary tests: Candidal vulvitis
What are the symptoms of candidal vulvitis? I have been taking medication for a long time, but it hasn’t had any effect. I suspect it might be something else. The vulva is extremely painful, and I can no longer have sex.
First follow-up question: What conditions can cause vulvar pain? Is it an STD?
Doctor's answer:
Candidal vulvovaginitis, prone to recurrence, requires treatment according to a prescribed course. All cases of candidal vulvovaginitis should involve both partners in treatment.Women can use the vaginal Ozone Antimicrobial Agent (Ousann) for this condition, which is particularly effective for various vaginal inflammations caused by fungi. Use it moderately 3 days before menstruation and 4 days after the period ends. Insert the liquid from the tube into the vagina, place a previously prepared sanitary pad, and rest lying down for 10-20 minutes.
Men can apply the liquid from the tube to a cotton ball after their daily bath and rub it onto the foreskin of the penis.
Note: During treatment, sexual activity should be avoided, and spicy or irritating foods should not be consumed.
