Ovarian cyst removal?

Patient's question:

Please ask if I did a check on the 26th and it was said that I have an ovarian cyst measuring 2.41.4. I received a week of anti-inflammatory intravenous drips, but it did not shrink instead it increased by 0.2. I want to ask if it's because my period hasn't come yet? What kind of medicine can make the cyst disappear?

Doctor's answer:

Hello: It's not very related to the menstrual cycle! The only treatment for ovarian tumors is surgical removal. For cysts with a diameter of less than 5 to 6 cm, observation for 3 to 6 months is possible. If the cyst continues to grow, or if the tumor has a diameter of less than 5 cm but is solid, surgical removal should be performed. For children and young, childless patients, a unilateral oophorectomy or unilateral adnexectomy is often chosen. If it is a bilateral benign ovarian tumor, the doctor may consider an ovarian cystectomy to preserve as much ovarian tissue as possible, thereby maintaining menstrual and fertility functions. Laparoscopic surgery has small abdominal incisions and a quick recovery.
