Super-luxurious author lineup, super-first-class book brand. The Wang Maimei book brand dates back to the 1980s. In 1987, a book titled "The Spy Catcher" by a former head of British MI5 intelligence caused a sensation in Western society, and China Central Television reported on it in the evening news program. As a result, the domestic publishing industry was stirred into action, scholars and translators worked tirelessly to search for publishing information; relevant publishing houses used every means to seize publishing opportunities. However, it was the unknown Wang Maimei who broke through the crowd, made a military contract with Changjiang Literature and Art Press, and won his first battle with the first edition selling nearly 100,000 copies of his translated work "The Spy Catcher." Once the victory was secured, it was unstoppable. In the following years, Wang Maimei achieved continuous success with his translated works such as "Royal Sisters," "Midnight Thoughts," "Nancy Reagan's Memoirs," and "The Unpublished Works of Mark Twain," each of which became bestsellers. After 1990, due to teaching-related reasons, Wang Maimei began to compile college English textbooks and teaching materials for the CET-4 and CET-6 exams. From then on, small and large bookstores near many universities in China continuously introduced popular book titles by Wang Maimei English. Suddenly, like a spring breeze, a thousand trees and ten thousand plum blossoms bloomed. In the domestic college English teaching materials market, Wang Maimei English was nearly the only one, leading the trend for over ten years. Today, the Wang Maimei English series has already hundreds of titles, covering various subjects from middle school to college and postgraduate entrance exams. Its brand is increasingly favored by readers because of its exceptionally clear explanations of textbook difficulties and its accurate grasp of exam trends. Surveys show that students from many universities and middle schools in the country own books with the Wang Maimei brand, almost one per person, demonstrating the extent of their popularity.
