Patient's question:
What is a miscarriage syndromeDoctor's answer:
Hello, a few pregnant women may experience bradycardia, arrhythmia, hypotension, pale complexion, profuse sweating, cold extremities, dizziness, nausea, vomiting, and chest tightness during or immediately after the procedure of vacuum aspiration or forceps-induced abortion. In severe cases, they may lose consciousness and have convulsions. This condition is known as the "post-abortion syndrome." It is caused by the strong stimulation of the cervix and uterine wall during vacuum aspiration or surgical instrument manipulation, leading to vagal nerve excitement. If this occurs, the procedure should be immediately stopped. Generally, after a brief rest, the symptoms will return to normal. In severe cases, atropine can be administered intravenously. If the surgery has not yet been completed, it can be resumed after the condition improves.
