Will there still be bleeding during intercourse after my hymen?

Patient's question:

Detailed medical condition and consultation purpose: At the age of 15, I had sexual intercourse with a 12-year-old neighbor. There was no bleeding at the time, and there was no pain either. The same thing happened in the following few instances. Because of this, I have never had sexual intercourse since then. I am wondering if I will experience bleeding of the hymen during future sexual intercourse?

Doctor's answer:

Hello: Most women experience pain and a small amount of bleeding when they lose their virginity due to the rupture of the hymen. However, a few may not bleed if their hymen opening is large, relatively tough, or has been previously damaged. Modern women's participation in sports, strenuous labor, or physical activities can also cause the hymen to rupture. Excessive masturbation can also easily lead to the rupture of the hymen. Some girls are born without a complete hymen. Not seeing blood on the first night does not necessarily mean one is not a virgin. Some girls have very elastic hymens that do not rupture even after multiple sexual encounters. Your situation is quite normal, so there is no need to worry.
