Features: This book aims to study the relationship between the scale and economic efficiency of enterprises in various industries in China, in order to identify the reasonable scale of enterprises in each industry (defined as "scale excellence" in this book) and provide a theoretical basis for the economic and organizational restructuring of enterprises in various industries in China. The book attempts to research the development scale of industries or enterprises through two approaches. One is to start from the theory of transaction costs, with the help of statistical analysis tools, creatively transforming the principles of determining enterprise scale in the theory of transaction costs into operational forms. It argues that due to the imperfect and non-standardized market economy in China, the transaction costs in the market are generally higher than the internal organizational management costs of enterprises, hence there is great potential for economies of scale in Chinese enterprises. The other is inspired by the research on production functions in Western economics. The book creatively proposes the concept of a scale function econometric model and conducts regression modeling on it, attempting to apply this model to analyze the development scale of the studied industries. The research methods of this book are primarily theoretical studies, supplemented by qualitative studies. Specifically, it applies factor analysis and discriminant analysis in multivariate statistical analysis, and extensively uses multivariate regression analysis, parametric and non-parametric tests, normality tests of sample distributions, and other mathematical statistical methods.
