Features: Curriculum development is a breakthrough in education and teaching reform, and textbook development is the core of curriculum construction. General education courses are foundational courses that cultivate the educational philosophy and preliminary educational and teaching qualities of students preparing to become teachers. The research project "Research on the Construction and Development of General Education Curriculum" is a sub-project of the National Education Science 15th Plan Project "Research on Curriculum Construction and Development of Local Higher Education Institutions in the New Century," led by Professor Zhou Jianzhong. Nearly 30 normal universities in the country collaborated on the research. The book is divided into two parts. The first part primarily explores fundamental issues and general laws of education, aiming to help students form a basic "picture" of educational activities. It offers innovative discussions on the nature of education, the evolution of education and its systems, the relationship between education and social development, the development of individuals through education, educational objectives, educational activities, teachers and students. The second part conducts beneficial explorations on practical issues in teaching activities, such as curriculum, classroom teaching, moral education, life guidance, and the organization and implementation of educational activities, adhering to the principle of combining theory with practice.
