Is the check showing no pregnancy really no pregnancy?

Patient's question:

Detailed medical condition and consultation purpose: I had my period on November 3rd, and it hasn't come yet. This morning, I took a pregnancy test, and there is a faint line on the test line. I went to the hospital yesterday for a check-up, and they also used a pregnancy test, which showed no pregnancy. Could I be pregnant? If not, is there any other illness? My husband and I had sex on November 20th, 22nd, and 26th. We had always been using contraception until November when we started trying to get pregnant. We've been married for a year. Before getting married, I had one case of delayed menstruation while studying in a different city, and I took some medication, which resolved after three months.

Doctor's answer:

If you are pregnant, you should be strongly positive now. You are negative, so the probability of pregnancy is not high. Your missed period is likely due to interference from emergency contraception. It can delay your period, bring it forward, or cause it to not come at all in the same month. Additionally, pelvic inflammatory disease can also cause menstrual disorders. Currently, it's hard to say which is the cause, but I lean towards it being due to emergency contraception.
