Features: Since the reform and opening-up, people's living standards have continuously improved, and "having fish for food" has become commonplace. With advancements in fishery technology, fish production has increased significantly, and people's demands for fish have shifted from merely "having fish for food" to high-quality, green, and safe products. After the Fourth Plenary Session of the 16th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, agricultural work became a top priority, and the state increased its investment in agriculture. For fish farmers and aquaculture workers, this is a rare opportunity to increase production, boost income, and achieve a well-off life. We should seize this opportunity to accelerate the transformation of fishery technology, fundamentally change aquaculture concepts, adjust aquaculture structures, and produce green aquatic products that meet modern agricultural requirements. This book aims to explain the knowledge of fish disease prevention and control in an accessible and practical manner, while also reflecting the principles of healthy aquaculture and ecological disease prevention.
China's regional conditions vary greatly, but the patterns of fish disease occurrence and development are fundamentally the same, though the types of diseases and their severity differ. Based on years of practical experience and references from relevant books, we have compiled this book, striving to cover as much as possible. We have focused on the more common and highly harmful fish diseases in production, while giving less attention to those that occur less frequently or only cause significant harm in specific areas. Additionally, we have not included newly emerging diseases where the pathogens are not yet determined or where prevention methods are unclear. We apologize for any omissions in this regard.
We sincerely welcome any corrections or suggestions from readers regarding the errors or oversights in this book.
