Patient's question:
I am 19 years old and have experienced amenorrhea due to malnutrition, as I haven't had my period for half a year. Recently, I had unprotected sex and then took Yuting. Will I still be able to get pregnant???????????Doctor's answer:
Emergency contraception can be taken within 72 hours (three days) after unprotected sex or contraceptive failure. Take one Yuting tablet (0.75mg) and, 12 hours later, take another tablet (total dose of 1.5mg) or two tablets (0.75mg each). Emergency contraception only provides protection for the most recent act of intercourse and should not be followed by further unprotected acts after taking the medication. If vomiting occurs within two hours of taking the medication, it is recommended to take an additional tablet. If pregnancy occurs after a failed emergency contraception attempt, surgical or medication methods should be used to terminate the pregnancy. As long as the medication is taken correctly and there is no further intercourse, pregnancy is generally unlikely.
