Can I get pregnant after left ovarian cyst surgery?

Patient's question:

I've been married for a year and a half. In early June of this year, I had surgery to remove a left ovarian cyst, and the doctor said it was very successful.
I've been trying to have a child for three months now. My ovulation period is calculated very accurately, and my sexual life is also normal, but I haven't been successful yet. Could it be that I have infertility? Or is it because I had an ovarian cyst that affects fertility? First follow-up question: The right ovary is fine, but during the surgery, the doctor removed one of the right follicles. It seems the fallopian tubes are fine because the doctor didn't mention any issues. Could it be that the removed right follicle won't grow back? Also, I heard from the doctor that my endometrium is only 3mm, which seems a bit thin.

Doctor's answer:

Hello, ovarian cysts can cause mechanical obstruction of the fallopian tubes and may also affect ovarian function, potentially impacting fertility. Generally, when the cyst diameter is less than 5 centimeters, patients can undergo follow-up and regular check-ups. If the cyst significantly increases in size, surgical removal should be considered. If, after several months of treatment, the cyst does not shrink but instead grows and is larger than 5 centimeters, it is recommended to undergo surgical treatment before attempting to conceive. Because ovarian cysts can affect fertility, even if pregnancy occurs, they may have adverse effects on the pregnancy. Ovarian cysts can cause miscarriage in early pregnancy, are prone to torsion of the cyst stalk in the second trimester, and larger cysts in late pregnancy can lead to abnormal fetal positioning, potentially obstructing the birth canal and causing difficult labor. Therefore, surgical treatment before pregnancy is more beneficial than surgical treatment during pregnancy.
