Features: The "New Concept Composition Competition," jointly organized by the Menghua magazine and thirteen prestigious universities such as Peking University, Tsinghua University, and Fudan University, holds undeniable authority and is hailed as China's "Olympics of Chinese Language Education." Winners of its previous editions have been admitted to these universities through independent enrollment, serving as a beneficial supplement to the college entrance examination system and opening new pathways to elite institutions for students with individuality and creativity. The "New Concept" series has also been a cradle for literary idols, with figures like Han Han, Guo Jingming, and Zhang Yuoran gaining public recognition through it, bringing an alternative style to Chinese literature that is strikingly notable. To prevent the proliferation of derivative and imitative works, the Selected Works of the 8th National New Concept Composition Competition has been completely revamped. First, the works are categorized into six sections based on their themes, with each section arranged in chronological age order: senior high school (Grade 12), junior high school (Grades 9-8), primary school (Grades 7-6), university, and young adults under 30. Second, the design has been updated—Volumes A and B are combined into a single book, with the format changed from 32-page to 16-page, priced at 43 yuan per copy. Third, a 5-yuan discount voucher is included to express gratitude for readers' long-standing support and affection for the New Concept Composition Selection. In summary, the Selected Works of the 8th National New Concept Composition Competition aims to appeal to a broader readership with its more exquisite, refined, and affordable quality.
