Features: Several features of this series: On the selection of materials, on one hand, we categorize the reading passages into "Economic and Financial," "Social Sciences," "Culture and Education," "Popular Science," and other categories based on the characteristics of reading materials in CET-4 and CET-6 exams, to help readers solve various types of articles more targetedly. Moreover, we have designed a section at the end of each article called "Article Structure Analysis," which introduces relevant background knowledge to help readers expand their knowledge and understand the structure of English articles. On the other hand, when selecting simulated materials, we strive to achieve a balance between the freshness, typicality, knowledge, and interest of the content. We have selected some well-structured and linguistically elegant English essays, aiming to make them appealing to college students, resonate with them, and adjust the difficulty level to be closer to the CET-4 exam. In terms of explanation, we adhere to the teaching principle of "concise instruction." Each unit includes a passage from the CET-4 reading test paper, which is thoroughly analyzed and explained. First, we follow the principle of "learning words in reading and experiencing words in reading." From each test passage, we extract about ten core vocabulary words, introduce their common meanings and test meanings, provide example sentences, and expand on these words. Second, to address many candidates' difficulties in understanding English sentence structures, we have designed two sections: "Analysis of English Long Sentences" and "Analysis of English Difficult Sentences," which provide detailed analysis of the complex sentences in the passages. Third, considering that many candidates do not know how to find useful information, eliminate misleading options, or lock in the correct option when solving problems, we have conducted a detailed analysis of each question in the test paper, identifying where the corresponding information is located in the original text, how to find it, and helping candidates summarize the reasons for correct answers and the traps of incorrect answers. Finally, we have translated all the options. In terms of practice, we adhere to a simulated test format to create a sense of on-the-spot conditions for learners. Each unit includes four reading comprehension passages of varying difficulty. After studying the concise instruction part, readers can immediately engage in simulated practice to check their learning progress. We have also provided recommended reading times for each passage for reference. This book not only provides answers to the practice questions but also offers detailed analysis, helping candidates achieve "knowing what, knowing why, and knowing why not."
