Detailed medical history and purpose of consultation:
I. Symptoms:
1. Since September 26, the postmenstrual discharge has lasted for 8-9 days, and a large amount of yellow vaginal fluid is expelled 2-3 days before menstruation. In the morning, it is about 5-6 milliliters more, while it is less at other times. No abdominal pain. The menstrual flow requires two packs of pads, with a cycle of 6-7 days.
II. Tests
1. Results of fluid examination: Polysomy +++ (neutrophils), albumin +++ (white protein), epithelial tissue ++, miscellaneous bacteria ++, vaginal bacteria +, clue cells +, cervical scraping II grade, other tests normal.

Doctor's answer:

A mixed infection caused by the imbalance of normal vaginal flora, but without clinical or pathological changes, predominantly involving anaerobic bacteria. The cause is not very clear. Some individuals are asymptomatic, while those with symptoms primarily experience increased vaginal discharge with a fishy odor, external itching, or a burning sensation, which worsens after intercourse. The first-line treatment is oral metronidazole 400 mg, taken 2-3 times daily for 7 days. Local application of metronidazole effervescent tablets 200 mg, used once nightly for 7-10 days, is also recommended. The cure rate is approximately 80%. During pregnancy, oral metronidazole is often used for treatment.
