Test strip shows no pregnancy, but my period hasn't arrived yet. What's going on?

Patient's question:

I and she were on ZA on October 30th. That day, she had just finished her period! But until today (December 6th), her period still hasn't arrived!!
I took a pregnancy test on November 30th, and it showed negative. Not feeling reassured, I took another test on December 3rd, and it still showed negative. But until today, her period still hasn't come!!!
What should I do?? How can I know for sure if she's pregnant or not???
What should I do if her period doesn't come???

Doctor's answer:

Regarding the question of whether it can be detected with a pregnancy test if you are pregnant and also have your period, here is the answer: Emergency contraception pills are not guaranteed to be 100% effective in preventing pregnancy. Currently, if you want to check for pregnancy with a home pregnancy test, it is recommended that you go to the hospital for a blood HCG test to confirm the diagnosis. A menstrual period that arrives earlier or later by one week is considered normal. If your period does not arrive for 10 days or more, it is recommended that you use a home pregnancy test or go to the hospital for a blood HCG test to confirm. If pregnancy is ruled out, then it could be considered irregular menstruation.
