Is Gardnerella vaginalis vaginitis prone to recurrence?

Patient's question:

Patient Age: 25
Detailed Medical Condition and Purpose of Consultation: During my last abortion, I was diagnosed with two + Gardnerella vaginalis. I took some medication and underwent vaginal irrigation, which later resolved. However, after my last menstrual period, my leukorrhea seems abnormal again. Is it possible that it has recurred? If I only take metronidazole and amoxicillin without vaginal irrigation, will it improve?
Current General Condition: Increased leukorrhea, slightly yellow, with a fishy odor
History of Diagnosis and Treatment, as well as Effectiveness: After two days of vaginal irrigation and taking tinidazole and amoxicillin/sulbactam for five days, my leukorrhea returned to normal.

Doctor's answer:

Gardnerella is sensitive to sulfonamides and tetracyclines and can be treated with standard oral doses. Maintain cleanliness and dryness of the external genital area, and avoid scratching. Avoid spicy and irritating foods, which are very effective. Change underwear frequently and wash it with warm water. Do not mix it with other clothes to avoid cross-infection.
