It includes more than 120 stories and over 120 illustrations. We strive to celebrate the historical contributions of the older generation of proletarian revolutionaries, such as Chairman Mao Zedong, during the Long March, as well as the heroic achievements of the vast number of Red Army commanders and soldiers who faced difficulties and remained undaunted. At the same time, it showcases the unwavering loyalty to the cause of communism, the steadfast belief, the heroic spirit of fearlessness in sacrifice and courage in victory, the noble character of prioritizing the bigger picture, strict discipline, and close unity, as well as the fine conduct of connecting with the masses, enduring hardships, and serving the people wholeheartedly. In Chairman Mao Zedong's poem, there are lines that say: "The Red Army fears not the long march, Ten thousand mountains and rivers are but a trifle. The Five Ranges twist and turn like ripples, The Wumeng Mountain is vast and we stride over it like pebbles." These lines reflect the spirit of our Red Army that did not stop its advance despite natural obstacles during the grassland crossing and snow-capped mountain climbing. It can be said that the Long March is a song of human survival. Based on the recollections of many veteran Red Army soldiers and leaders, the book vividly tells 120 typical stories and over a hundred heroic figures encountered during the Long March. The historical event of the Red Army's Long March will forever remain in Chinese history, telling us and our descendants how arduous the Long March was, but how they overcame all difficulties and obstacles. We should learn from the bravery of the Red Army and dare to fight against the enemy. The heroic deeds of the Red Army will shine eternally in our history.
