Doctor's answer:

Menstrual cycle delayed by more than 7 days, or even over forty or fifty days, is referred to as "Menstrual Postponement." There are two aspects to this condition: deficiency and excess.
In cases of deficiency, it may be caused by prolonged illness leading to physical weakness, insufficient nourishing blood; chronic blood loss due to improper diet, excessive fatigue, or damage to the spleen and stomach, resulting in insufficient production of essential nutrients; or a naturally deficient yang constitution, or long-term yang deficiency, all of which can lead to insufficient blood supply, lack of warmth in the organs, impaired blood production and circulation, preventing the blood sea from overflowing as scheduled, thus causing menstrual postponement.
In cases of excess, it may be due to external cold pathogens or chronic worry and depression, leading to qi stagnation. Qi stagnation can cause cold to congeal or blood flow obstruction, impairing the smooth circulation of qi and blood in the (Chong Ren) channels, preventing the blood sea from overflowing as scheduled, thus causing menstrual postponement.
Recommendation: For excess cases, primarily caused by cold pathogens, qi stagnation, or blood flow obstruction, you may consider taking herbal remedies that regulate qi and promote menstruation.
