Features: Every year, several GCT Chinese pre-examination coaching books appear in the market. Why do we still need to compile another book with a similar title? As a coaching teacher for the Chinese exam of the Engineering Master's program, based on the practical experience accumulated from two years of pre-examination coaching, and through information feedback obtained from interactions with a large number of candidates, I deeply feel that there are some shortcomings in the existing books on the market. The major ones are as follows:
1. The books only contain exercises, lacking concise introductions to the knowledge and principles related to the exam content, making it difficult for candidates to review and prepare.
2. There is a lack of introduction to the characteristics and patterns of the GCT-ME Chinese exam, as well as explanations of problem-solving methods and techniques, making it hard for first-time candidates, especially self-study candidates, to grasp the exam's approach.
3. Some books do not provide answers or explanations for any of the questions, leaving candidates unable to understand not only whether their answers are correct but also why. These shortcomings not only inconvenience teachers during coaching but also confuse candidates during their preparation. Thus, we were inspired to compile another teaching coaching book to address these issues.
The basic idea and approach for writing this coaching book are as follows: Focusing closely on the Engineering Master's Chinese exam, using representative questions, we explain the exam's characteristics and patterns, introduce the knowledge and principles related to the exam points, and teach problem-solving methods and techniques. This helps candidates understand the exam's features, grasp relevant knowledge, master problem-solving methods, learn to answer various common exam questions, and apply their knowledge flexibly to answer questions confidently.
For the comprehensive knowledge section, with its wide range of disciplines and extensive exam points, organizing the knowledge system and key points is a pressing need for candidates. To meet this demand, we have made preliminary efforts to outline the knowledge systems and key points of disciplines such as history, geography, biology, military science, and law, providing them to candidates. However, due to the large volume of content, it is difficult to include everything in this book. Therefore, the main parts have been placed online for candidates to review and browse, while only the comprehensive knowledge exercises are retained in this book.
We hope that our good intentions will be of some help to candidates in their review and preparation. Sincerely wish all candidates success in their exams.
