Will the follicle ovulate today that it has matured?

Patient's question:

All symptoms: Onset time and cause: Treatment status:
Hello, I am 15 days post-menstruation today. I just had an ultrasound at the hospital, and my follicle is already 2220, with a fluid accumulation of 1714. The doctor said it hasn’t ovulated yet but is mature. Can you help me see if there’s a possibility of ovulation today?
Help needed: Hope for a response!

Doctor's answer:

Hello, generally a mature follicle is released within one to two days, and the released follicle can survive for about 2 days. Each month, a woman typically releases only one mature egg, and this mature egg is usually considered mature when it is 2.0mm or larger. However, there is individual variation; some people may release an egg when the follicle reaches 1.5mm, while others may release an egg only when the follicle reaches 2.5mm. You can undergo a cycle of ultrasound examinations or use ovulation test strips to detect ovulation. Having intercourse two days before the ovulation period, during the ovulation period, and within 24 hours after ovulation increases the chances of conception.
