Features: This book took over three years from conception to the final character being typed. The time span of the entire book covers from the 16th National Congress of the Communist Party of China in 2002 to the successful conclusion of the 5th Plenary Session of the 16th Central Committee of the Party in October 2005. From the initial impulse to write, to gathering the courage to draft an outline, to writing the first two chapters, to organizing classmates to collect materials, to finally picking up the pen and writing it all out in one go—it was a long process. Not only was it a topic spanning the disciplines of political science and economics, but it was also a highly sensitive subject. Therefore, even now, looking at the nearly 300,000-word manuscript, I still feel a bit uneasy. After all, for a young newcomer like me, my ability to handle this topic is limited, and a slight mistake could lead to serious consequences. Although it is an era of freedom of speech, under the strong influence of the advanced education for Communist Party members, as a member of the Communist Party of China, I have always been cautious throughout the writing process, sincerely treating every punctuation mark and every character to express my loyalty and serious attitude towards writing, in order to avoid even the slightest mistake. Perhaps all I can aspire to is to evolve into the child in the story of "The Emperor's New Clothes," exploring the truth, genuine knowledge, and essence of science.
