Is nosebleeding during pregnancy a sign of "overheating"?

Patient's question:

Doctor:
Hello! During the fifth to sixth month of my pregnancy, I suddenly experienced five nosebleeds for no apparent reason! Before pregnancy, I had never had a nosebleed. Is this a normal phenomenon? I haven't eaten anything that could cause a "hot" condition, and I'm not sure if it's due to that!

Doctor's answer:

Hello: Nosebleeds usually occur suddenly, why do they bleed for no reason when everything seems fine? The causes of nosebleeds are generally divided into three types:
First type--Nasal mucosal abrasion, this is the most common cause of nosebleeds and the main reason for habitual nosebleeds. Because near the front of the nose, at the nasal septum, there are three small blood vessels that intersect. These three small blood vessels are very fragile and are intertwined in a very shallow area of the skin surface. Although the vessels are small, if they are accidentally scratched, fresh blood will continue to flow.
Second type--Inflammation of nasal polyps, once the polyps become inflamed, the polyps will swell and cause severe pain. Children often suffer from sinusitis, and if it is severe, it may also cause blood and pus to flow.
Third type--Nasopharyngeal cancer, the bleeding location is internal bleeding behind the nasal cavity, this is a very serious disease, never to be taken lightly!
In addition, adults may also experience nosebleeds due to high blood pressure, so frequent nosebleeds should be careful whether there are greater risks hidden behind, it is best to see a doctor for a thorough examination.
